Text Box: Meeting Date: January 7, 2005 Meeting Time: 8:15 a.m. Meeting Location: Bay Haven Media Center Agenda Item #1: Testing FCAT testing dates for this school year were reviewed. Agenda Item #2: Co-Chair Resignation Michelle Barton resigned from SAC due to health issues. Nelda Reinhard was voted in to take Michelle’s place as SAC Co-Chair. Agenda Item #3: WebQuest Training Dee talked about WebQuest training that will be held on Saturday, January 8th, and Saturday, February 5th. WebQuest products generated by teachers will be used for classroom integration for technology. Dee also talked about United Video Streaming. United Streaming will allow teachers to pull up desktop videos. There are over 30,000 topics to choose from. Video Streaming will allow for two to ten minutes viewing per topic. Children will be able to find clips they can use for projects. Agenda Item #4: Construction Update 1) Fences were installed on Tennessee for new Parent Picl-Up location, 2) H-Vac system was approved by the School Board, construction will start when portables are available, 3) Dumpsters were approved to be moved (they will be located by the bus loop when the mulch is now being stored), 4) Office construction is still set for this Summer, and 5) Windows in Building #1, north building (rooms 101 – 104, and 201 – 204) are approved to be replaced. Agenda Item #5: Round Table Discussion Roy hosted around nine people at this discussion. Participants really liked Bay Haven’s family atmosphere, the quality of our instructional staff members, and the quality of field trips the boys and girls are taking. The parents in attendance would like to see Bay Haven go to uniforms. Roy will host the next Round Table Discussion around lunch time. The date will go home to parents as soon as it is set. Agenda Item #6: FACT Training for Parents FCAT Explorer training has already been completed. It was suggested and approved that Barry Dunn present some FCAT prep information at our next P.T.O. meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 11th.
