10
day count has been finalized, and we are 9 students below which
cost
us about $33,000. We had on reserve one position. We will be
using
a portion of the reserved funding to post a position for a .6 ESE liaison. We
were
allocated only federal funds which will pay for this position. Class sizes
are
great. Mrs. Stith was wondering how Mrs.
Sparks was able to return
when
she was listed at the end of the year as retiring. Mr. Muth explained that
Mrs.
Sparks had to reapply as a new teacher. She
went though the interview
process
during the hiring of a third and fourth grade teacher. We interviewed 17
in-county
applicants. We had a teacher surplus into
our 5th grade vacancy, (Mrs. DeHart)
and a teacher surplus into one of the vacant 3rd grade (Mrs.
Kerr). We then interviewed and hired a new teacher, Mrs. Visser for 3rd
grade vacancy, and Mrs. Sparks for our
fourth grade position.
