Clarification of budget presentation:
· The salary was listed incorrectly for 1 non-ESE A2 Aide – this change would reflect a $1,665 difference
· Monies held back will be used for:
· In case projections are not met
· Contracted services
· Science personnel…equivalent to an A-2 salary.
o These monies are being held back due to the fact that there is no Science Lab yet…
o funds not used will roll to next year’s budget
· New units for grades 4 & 5 are categorical in nature…part of funds will come from ESE and part from Basic. These units will be discussed with teams
Upon completion of the above clarification, time was allotted for questions. Listed below are expressed items that will be considered next year:
§ Recess should be offered daily since P.E. will be one time per week
§ If at all possible the second Music Teacher should have a classroom…not a cart
§ Behavior Specialist will be assigned to Guidance Department next year
The Ashton School Advisory Council came to concensus on the 2003-2004 School Budget.
Please remember:
Staffing is never easy. Certification, personality, areas of strength and preferences, among others, all must be considered prior to any movement of staff.
Final Note:
The Principal retains the right, if projections do not come in as planned or if qualified personnel cannot be hired, to work with TL’s to make changes or alterations to the budget, if it becomes necessary, during the summer.”
