The School Improvement plan was give to each person who attended the meeting. The SIP plan was developed to address all the unique and varied needs of Oak Parks population. At the beginning of the plan, there is a compilation of test scores as reported by the federal government. The government doesnt report our FCAT scores independently of the Florida Alternative Assessment Report (FAAR) so these have been manually broken down to show the percentage of students who passed the FCAT separately from the percentage of students who showed mastery on the FAAR.
The SIP plan also identifies goals and objectives for Reading, Math, Science and Writing. In addition, a goal to address Safe & Orderly Schools was added to identify the campus-wide need for TEAM and CPI Training, the development of a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) on each student with a behavioral concern and to provide staff with the tools necessary to deal with behaviors across all spectrums of disabilities.
Finally, the district-approved Topic Areas and Teacher Competencies that are necessary for Instructional staff to complete the 30-Hour training was identified, as well as, how the success of each goal will be measured. Topics in IEP Development and Behavioral Issues were added with the intention of getting approval to offer these as part of our campus training for those who are interested. Each team has chosen their target areas of interest and these have been reported. The Classified Staff is welcome to participate in these activities for their own knowledge and growth but are not included in the countys 30-Hour Professional Development plan.
