Take a Practice Test at Home
- Please note: this is not connected to Fruitville's records, use it as practice, then take real test at school

The Accelerated Reader program is designed to encourage students to improve their reading comprehension. Fruitville students take a STAR test to find the level of books at which they will be most successful in passing tests at 85%-92%. That is called their ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development.

Fruitville uses the lastest version of AR Universal. We now own over 7800 tests. Also included now are all the Scott Foresman Tests from the reading series. These do not give the children AR points, but can help teachers to assess students' skills. We have purchased tests for youngsters which the computer will read to them. Not all of these titles are available in the Fruitville Media Center, but visit the Fruitville Library near our school often, as they, too have AR books.

For Accelerated Reader Certification, here's a little help.

For Kindergarten and First Grade only-

5, 10, and 15 point club - Students will earn a visit from the Prize Patrol on Friday afternoons they reach a new point club. The students will receive a new book, a backpack button, and beads. When five of the points are read independently the student will receive a Reading Rocketeer T-shirt.

For other Grades-

Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade can earn a visit from the Prize Patrol on Fridays when they reach 20 AR points. Second and Third Graders will earn a Reading Rocketeer T-shirt at 20 pints and Fourth and Fifth Graders will receive a T-shirt when they earn 30 points.

If you have a suggestion for a title you would like to see added, first go to the Accelerated Reader Web site and see if a test is available. Then give your suggestion to Mrs. Carson in the Media Center. 20 tests need to be ordered at one time. If you would like to donate a customized test disk see her for details.
