ART |

Mrs. Vega and Mrs. Knapp introduce Fruitville's K-5 students to a broad view of the arts which involves creating art, and responding to it. Arts are a necessary part of one's growth and should be an integral part of our education. |

MUSIC |

Music "Rocks" at Fruitville! From kindergarten through fifth grade, students experience a variety of activities in their music classes. Ms. Emily Garske brings a new level of excitement to our music classes.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION |

|
The Physical Education specialist, Ms Knust, is this year's Teacher of the Year. Skills and activities are age appropriate and designed to improve the health and well-being of all involved.

TECHNOLOGY |
Fruitville uses both Hewlett Packard and Macintosh computers. We have six wireless mobile carts,three computer labs, and five Smart Boards to enhance students learning.

SCIENCE |

Our Science Lab is the place for experiments and the "study of life." Ms. Jeffrey works with all the students to ensure they have a good understanding of the world around them.

GUIDANCE & COUNSELING |
|
|
The school counseling program at Fruitville encompasses a wide variety of activities and services that promote academic, social, and emotional well being. Some services include individual counseling, group counseling, classroom lessons, school-wide character education program, student appraisal, and coordination of services. Other services include consulting with parents and providing referral information when requested. Please contact the guidance office for further information.

ESOL |

The acronym ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages. Children who qualify for this program are automatically eligible for three years of service. Often, students will acquire the language at a more rapid rate and can exit the program earlier than three years. Likewise, students needing more that three years of service can receive up to six years of service. The ESOL teacher and aide support children, parents and teachers with strategies that help the children become successful in school.

The Sarasota County north area Magnet Program for Gifted Students is housed at Fruitville and provides services for eligible students in an elementary school setting while preparing them to move on to other sites for the middle school years.
