Minimum Qualifications

Teaching positions that require a Florida Educator’s Certificate:

  • You must apply (https://certify.fldoe.org/publicweb/default.aspx) or have applied for Florida Certification to be considered for employment as a teacher in the Sarasota County School District.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a fully accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Vocational positions not requiring a Florida Educator’s Certificate:

  • Applicants for positions that require a district-issued vocational certificate must have the appropriate work experience and licensure (if required) for the position.
