Parent Contract Commitments

1. I will support the total Bay Haven School of Basics Plus program, policies, philosophy, staff, administration, and P.T.O.
2. I will read the Parent / Student Handbook and review it with my child.
3. I will support the hours of the school by having my child in the classroom by 9:15 a.m. where he/she will remain until 4:00 p.m. If I am picking up my child, I will be there by 4:10 p.m. I understand that I will be charged a Child Care fee if my child is not picked up by 4:10 p.m.

Student Contract Commitments

1. I will remain quiet, orderly, and task oriented in the classroom.

2. I will be responsible for completing and turning in class work assignments and homework on time.

3. I will care for books, furniture, equipment, rooms, and restrooms, leaving them unmarked and in the same condition as they were found.

Homework

It is the school’s position that homework is a beneficial and necessary tool which aids the student in his/her academic growth. Homework is an extension of the day’s learning experiences, and therefore, assigned frequently to reinforce classroom learning. Parents are expected to support the policy as stated below:

1. Homework will be assigned at all grade levels.

Dismissal Guidelines

A student may be dismissed from school for one or more of the following reasons:

• Failure of the student to follow the rules as stated in his/her contract commitments.
• Failure of the parents/guardians to adhere to his/her (their) signed contract commitments.

The following information is a recommendation of “Dismissal Guidelines” made for the Dismissal Committee. Gross violations of the contract will result in immediately moving to Step #6.

Dress Code

Students, faculty, staff and parent volunteers are expected to dress appropriately. Appearance should always be neat and clean.STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR:

• Shirts or blouses
• Slacks (hemmed and “ride” on or above hip bones)
